A Letter from Dr. Robinson

Dear Patients,

I would like to begin by thanking you for entrusting my team and me with your primary care needs since 2005. As our practice has matured and grown, you are the reason we constantly look for ways to innovate and improve. It remains an honor to care for each and every one of you.

As you read above, our office will be providing two new services in the coming year, while maintaining the primary care model you are used to. This expansion marks a turning point not only in the practice’s history, but in my own career. Moving forward, I will see patients who enroll in our Concierge Care program, maintain a supervisory role for our practitioners, and lead The Longevity Project. My hope is that this will allow me to slow down a bit. I am not getting any younger and after 31 years of practicing high speed, high volume medicine, alongside managing a business, it is time for me to pace myself for a much longer career.

The Specialty of Family Medicine, for which I am board certified, has changed greatly since its creation in 1969. Initially, family physicians went out into the world to cure any and all disease they encountered. We tackled problems in the operating room, intensive care unit, emergency room, and more. When I came along, this reactive approach to medicine was starting to become the responsibility of specialists. Family doctors began to focus on preventative care and chronic disease management. But today, I find myself in the midst of another shift, one towards improving a patient’s longevity.

After years of keeping an eye on this new field of medicine, I am finally ready to launch my own initiative: The Longevity Project. The Longevity Project has been a dream of mine for quite a while. It is a program in which I will personally lead a group of patients through actualizing the latest research on increasing your health span, years without disease, and life span, with the goal of living healthily to 100. Our journey will take us through a variety of activities including one of my personal favorites - hiking my favorite trails throughout Marin and, if you’re up for it, backpacking in the Sierras.

While this shift in professional and business strategy is necessary for my long term health and the future of our practice, I am saddened that I will no longer be seeing many of you directly anymore. It has been a joy to get to know you, and I can confidently say that you are in the best of hands with the rest of my team. Whether you choose to enroll in our Premium Care plan, Concierge Care plan, or The Longevity Project, I speak for my whole practice when I say we look forward to continuing this primary care journey together.

With Thanks,

Curtis F. Robinson, MD
